Father arrested for cutting son with lawn mower blade

UPDATE: Tyler Police Department:

TYLER (KYTX) - On Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 8:46 a.m. Tyler Police were called to Trinity Mother Frances Hospital E.R. to investigate an aggravated assault. 

Officers contacted the victim identified as Kyan Campbell, B/ M, age 26, of Tyler in the Emergency Room.  Campbell stated that he and his father, identified as Darron Campbell, B/M, age 51, of Tyler were working together on lawn maintenance at Borden's located at 805 W. Front Street.  The two got into a physical altercation that led the father to striking his son with a lawn mower blade across his son's arm slicing it open. 

Campbell was transported by private vehicle to the hospital for treatment.  Officers located the father and made an on-site arrest for Aggravated Assault Family Violence after obtaining the details of the incident. Campbell was booked into the Smith County Jail.  



TYLER (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - Tyler police are on the scene where a man was allegedly assaulted by his father who struck him with a lawn mower blade.

Don Martin, department public information officer, said the victim is telling officers his father assaulted him with the weapon at their workplace at Borden's on Front Street.

Police on the scene said they have found a large amount of blood and are calling for a crime scene unit.
The victim's condition is not known at this time.
