Fire department battles fire at Tyler home

(KYTX) - Tyler Fire Department is still working on a fire that began around 7 earlier this evening.

The fire took place at a home at 632 North Confederate Ave. The man who lives in the home got out safely and is staying with family tonight.

Five fire engines were called to blaze and the home is heavily damaged.

The fire is contained, but Fire Marshall Gumber tells CBS 19 that the insulation in the attic is made out of news paper, which is making it more difficult to put it completely out.

There were no injuries to the resident of the home or fire responders.
