Longview (KYTX) - Hundreds laced up their shoes and hit the road to raise money and awareness for Autism.
It was for the second annual Firefly 5k and one mile run for Autism held at McWhorter park in Longview.
Jessica Guire and her husband started putting together the event two years ago after her son, Teagan was diagnosed with Autism.
"It's important for everyone to be here today because Autism Awareness if our cause. 1 in 88 kids are diagnosed every year. It's important for us to spread the word to our small community about what Autism is," Teagan's mother, Jessica Guire said.
The money raised today will go to Autism Speaks, a national organization that does research to help fight Autism.
