TYLER (KYTX) - A Tyler woman is celebrating more than 10 years of being 100 pounds lighter. She's kept the weight off and now she's blogging about it to help others find Fit City Success.
Kelley Moore is well traveled in the world of fitness. That's helped her find workouts she likes and a healthy diet of foods she'll stick to.
This Tyler mom of three wasn't always the picture of fitness she is today. After getting married, Kelley Moore started gaining weight. "Each time I had a kid I put on weight and I never was able to lose it," says Kelley.
Then in 2000, weighing 260 pounds, Kelley decided she didn't want to be overweight any more. "My New Years resolution, I said this is the time that I am going to lose the weight," says Kelley.
Kelley started slowly walking with a friend, who also had kids. "We would go at 10 at night and go walking down about a mile," says Kelley. Once Kelley joined a gym... The weight started coming off. She lost 100 pounds in 9 months. The last 10 were the most stubborn.
"What I learned on my nutrition, at the beginning I began eating less and less and by the times I reached my goals I wasn't getting to eat very much," says Kelley.
Kelley still remembers what it was like to only be able to sit down at a table to eat and not fit in a booth... That's what keeps her in the gym and blogging about her experiences.
"Everybody began asking me, how did you do it? What did you do? What do you eat, where do you work out? I began putting pictures on my blog. I would go to my classes. I would take pictures of my workouts. I would take pictures of my food and I got to reach a lot of people all at once," says Kelley.
Kelley stays on track simply by doing what she loves-- cross-training at XTC Fitness with step aerobics, zumba, cycling, lifting weights and power hour. "They push you and take you to your limits. I am always trying to get stronger faster better, always," says Kelley.
Kelley suggests getting a partner to keep you motivated and to start eating better right away.
