FM 849 bridge closer to repairs after accident damage

SMITH COUNTY - An emergency contract is being put into place in connection with the Farm-to-Market Road 849 bridge accident that happened on Nov.14.

TxDOT evaluated and closed the bridge after a tanker drum fell off a flat-bed trailer and damaged three of the four girders under the brige.

According to TxDOT, construction plans to replace the structure were already ready, allowing the project to move forward quickly.
