ATHENS/HENDERSON COUNTY (KYTX) - The head football coach of a Central Texas high school spent Friday afternoon in the Henderson County Jail, charged with having improper relationships with students.

Lometa High School coach Wendell Earl Bradley was booked into jail at about 2:30 p.m. Friday. He was released later that day on $30,000 bond. Lometa ISD officials said Friday that Bradley was placed on paid administrative leave pending a school investigation.

A Lampasas County judge issued warrants for Bradley's arrest on two counts of improper relationship between an educator and a student, as well as one count of online solicitation of a minor.

It is not known why Bradley was in Athens on Friday, when the varsity football team was to play Hill Country Christian school in Lometa on Friday night.

According to KXXV-TV, the Lampasas county Sheriff's Office on Wednesday received a report that said the 51-year-old Bradley had been exchanging sexually explicit text messages with several students who attend the Lometa High School.

Bradley is also listed at the girl's basketball coach, and there is no word whether any of the players were involved in the allegations.
