NACOGDOCHES (KYTX) - Former Lon Morris College President, Dr. Miles McCall takes a job with Commercial Bank of Texas, N.A.
President and C.O.O. of Commercial Bank of Texas, N.A., Rusty Rust says he will be responsible for leading the Communications and Marketing Divisions for the Texas markets.
Some of McCall's new job duties will include: managing the coordination and growth of business development efforts, extending the CBTx Banking Texas-Style brand, and handling all aspects of human resources and employee development.
In a press release, Tommy Ellison, C.E.O. and Chairman of the Board said, "When we began thinking about who we might ask to fill this position, we immediately thought of Dr. McCall. He's well-educated with tremendous expertise in the communication field. I'm confident he'll bring a high-energy, laser-focused style of management that will benefit not only the bank, but the community."
Dr. McCall graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication and Industrial Psychology. He also holds a Masters in Communication and Business Administration from SFA and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction and Business Training from Texas A&M University.
Before becoming president of the former Lon Morris College, Dr. McCall served as a professor and Vice President at Stephen F. Austin State University for more than 20 years. A press release from Commercial Bank of Texas also says he is professional speaker, consultant and author. He served as President of Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, Texas from 2005 to 2012.
In May of 2012, CBS 19 reported that Dr. McCall stepped down as President from Lon Morris when the college began an attempted reorganization process. Lon Morris College has since filed for bankruptcy and closed its doors.
According to a press release, Dr. McCall has served with numerous civic organizations, including serving as President of the Jaycees, Vice President of the United Way, Director of the Boys and Girls Club, Wesley Foundation Chairman of the Board, National President and Chairman of the Board for the National Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, and Past President and Chairman of the Texas Lyceum Association.
