Former West Rusk Graduates Trying to Stay At ETBU

MARSHALL (KYTX) - Students from West Rusk High school say they are having a hard time paying for an education at East Texas Baptist University.

Last spring, Houston film maker Nicholas Sturghill's Spokesman offered students a free ride scholarship. All they had to do is attend ETBU.  The money, however, never came.  Fenton Motors stepped up to the plate and donated $100,000 to the 12 students that planned to attend ETBU.
After this semester, that money will be gone, and students like Allan Wallace says he likely won't be able to come back this fall.

"I haven't felt a financial struggle because of Fenton, but next year I won't be able to come back. It is a lot more expensive here." - Allan Wallace, Former West Rusk ISD Student

Estimated costs for an undergrad student at ETBU is just under $24,000 per year.
