(CNN) - Three men in their early 20s with ties to the United States have been charged in a plot to help terrorists overseas.
Three of the four men were allegedly planning to leave the United States for training under Al-Qaida and the Taliban. Investigators say among their potential targets were American military personnel overseas.
Los Angeles FBI says the men told an informant that they intended to carry out "violent jihad." Charges include conspiracy to provide material support to terrorism. If convicted, they would face a maximum of 15 years in federal prison.
