Free Health Clinic to Open in Longview

LONGVIEW (KYTX) - A new clinic is set to host an open house next Thursday. The clinic at Alpine Church of Christ in Longview will help anyone that is uninsured to receive healthcare. The church has financed a 1.2 million dollar clinic through church donations and will be able to serve up to 90 patients a week.

Appointments are set up through Longview Community Ministries and are scheduled for Wednesday nights.
Compassion Clinic Minister Nancy Lifsey  says doctors from all denominations, backgrounds, and hospitals volunteer.
"We all rejoice when we see these people regain their health, and feel apart of the community again." - Nancy Lifsey, Compassion Clinic Minister

It is estimated by the Texas Medical Association that nearly 19,000 people in Longview don't have health insurance. The clinic can provide checkups for cholesterol, high blood pressure, asthma, diabetes, nutrition, and even free counseling.
