FRESH Ideas: Cool Drinks


2 cups hot coffee
1 cup milk, divided
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4  teaspoon ancho chile powder
2 teaspoons cocoa powder
1/4 cup sugar


Add the hot coffee to a mixing bowl and stir 1/2 cup of milk, cinnamon, chile powder, cocoa powder and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Pour into ice cube trays and freeze for at least three hours or overnight. Place the cubes in a plastic bag and break slightly with a meat mallet. Add the broken ice cubes to a blender, along with the other 1/2 cup of milk. Blend until slushy and ice is chopped. Spoon into glasses and garnish with whip cream, cinnamon and shaved chocolate.
