HALLSVILLE - Funeral plans are set for William Brannon, the 17-year-old killed in a boating accident on Lake O' the Pines over the weekend.
Visitation with family and friends will be Wednesday, August 9 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home in Marshall.
His funeral service is planned for Thursday, August 10 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Hallsville. The family will have a private burial.
Brannon, 16-year-old Heath Fauchex and 11-year-old Thomas Larry were injured August 5 when the mast of their catamaran collided with an overhead transmission power line.
A Scout official says a Scout leader quickly reached the boat, but Brannon and Fauchex were already dead. Larry died from his injuries on Monday at LSU Hospital in Shreveport.
Kedrick Larry, Thomas' father, posted an update to his Facebook page soon after his son passed:
Everything that could have been done was, but it was God's will to call him home. Your prayers did make a difference so I'm asking for continued prayers for our family for comfort in these trying times. This is my son, Thomas Matthew Larry RIP!!! March 17, 2006 - August 7, 2017.
All three boys were members of the Hallsville School Bands. Band Director Sherri Morgan says Fauchex and Brandon were both great musicians and leaders in the high school band.
Fauchex played the French horn and Brandon was a sousaphone tuba player. Both shinning stars in their sections. Larry, was a future band star, who was set to enter the six grade beginners band program.
Larry will become an organ donor Tuesday morning starting at 11 a.m.
In his honor, there will be a special recognition at that time at the LSU Shreveport Medical Center located at 1501 Kings Highway in Shreveport.
A flag will be raised at the start of the donation process and will continue to fly until the process is complete. At that time, the flag will be lowered and given to the Larry family.
A gofundme account has been set up to help the Larry family with expenses.
The accident is being investigated by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s statewide boating accident reconstruction and mapping team.
All three scouts were wearing life jackets at the time of the incident.
