Girl almost drowns at Tyler State Park

TYLER (KYTX) - Tyler State Park goers witnesses a scary moment for one little girl as she nearly drowned in the water. Red Springs fire and rescue crews were dispatched to the scene around 1:00 Saturday afternoon on a report of a drowning, according to scanner traffic.

Witnesses on the scene said a little girl has been out in the water when another man found her. It's not clear if the girl was struggling in the water or just found floating. A woman at the beach with her family said she saw a man with the girl in his arms walking back to shore screaming for someone to call 911. She said, the girl was limp and looked unconscious.

That's when they said an off duty paramedic at the water site began CPR on the girl. The witness said people gathered around the girl as CPR was being performed. After a few minutes passed that same witness said she saw the girl spit up water. Scanner reports said when emergency crews got there, the girl was conscious.

There is no word on how far the little girl was out in the water, or if her parents were around at the time of the near drowning.

Witnesses said the little girl was transported to the hospital via ambulance.

There is no word on her condition.
