Gohmert: Immigrants "being told accurately that people are not being sent home"

Congressman Louie Gohmert is back in East Texas after trips abroad.

He spent a good deal of time discussing the crisis involving kidnapped school girls in Nigeria.

"Although the First Lady and some of her friends have been tweeting 'hashtag bringbackourgirls' these people don't follow Twitter," Gohmert told the South Tyler Rotary Club Monday, adding that REAL ACTION IS NEEDED INSTEAD.

The congressman also shared his recent experience visiting the mexican border.

"When you ask them why they're coming here they say 'it's because we want to get my kids an education, and actually, these aren't my kids; they're a friend's kids,'" Gohmert said. "And they're coming because they're being told accurately that people are not being sent home."

Gohmert said he believes border patrol agents who told him the only way to fix the influx of people seeking amnesty is to turn them away as soon as they cross the border.
