(KYTX) - Governor Rick Perry had some strong words for the Boy Scouts today, saying he hopes the Boy Scouts of America doesn't move soften its mandatory no-gays membership policy.
Gov. Perry addressed an annual gathering of scouts from around Texas this afternoon.
When asked about the policy afterward, he said "I think most people see absolutely no reason to change" it.
The boy scouts reaffirmed the no-gays policy seven months ago.
But the group now says it may allow different religious and civic groups sponsoring scout units to each decide how to address the issue.
