Grapeland woman dies in East Texas crash

HOUSTON CO. (KYTX) – A one vehicle crash in Houston County has claimed the life of a Grapeland, Texas woman.

Texas DPS Troopers report the accident was reported on July 10, at 11:55 am on FM 228, east of Grapeland.

DPS troopers responded to the scene of the crash and observed a 2010 Chevrolet HHR passenger vehicle as the vehicle involved in the crash.

The vehicle had been traveling eastbound on FM 228 and reportedly drove off the roadway in a curve and struck some trees.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash was identified as 63-year-old Ginger Baggett Teems from Grapeland, Texas.

Teems was transported from the scene of the crash to a nearby church parking lot in an attempt to be transported by medical helicopter but passed away prior to being airlifted.

Teems was pronounced deceased by Judge Ronnie Jordan at 12:20 PM.

Teems was reported as not wearing a seatbelt. No additional information is available at this time.
