Health Alert: Fruits and Veggies May Decrease Stroke Risk

(CBS) - Eating more fruits and vegetables may reduce the risk of stroke. Researchers poured over 20 years of studies involving more than 700,000 people worldwide. They found double-digit decreases in stroke risk for every 200 grams of fruit and veggies a person consumes each day. The American Heart Association, which published the study, recommends the average adult eat 4 to 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day.
(CBS) - What's the biggest heart disease risk factor for women over 30? A British-Australian study suggests it's inactivity. Researchers looked at more than 30,000 women over 30. They found that lack of physical activity had the most impact on who developed heart disease - even more so than smoking, high blood pressure and excess weight.
(CBS) - The secret to long life may be getting along. An 11-year Danish study finds that middle-aged people who had frequent arguments with partners, relatives, and even neighbors  had a higher risk of death. That was especially true for men and the unemployed. Frequent arguments with partners and/or children were found to be especially harmful. The study's authors suggest learning how to manage conflicts could help reduce that risk.
