Health Alert: High-chair injuries on the rise

(CBS) - Every hour, a child is treated for a high chair-related injury.

That's according to a new study from the nationwide children's hospital.

The authors found the number of injuries is on the rise and most involve a fall.

Researchers  recommend using the chair's safety straps and staying with your child during meal time.


(CBS) - People with diabetes may be at a higher risk for liver cancer.

The American Association for Cancer Research analyzed data from more than 150,000people enrolled in a 15 year study.

Researchers found Latinos with diabetes had almost three times the risk and Japanese-Smerican patients were twice as likely to be diagnosed.

They say liver cancer cases have tripled in the U.S. over the past three decades.

(CBS) - There's an easy way to kill bed bugs.

A new study in the Journal of Economic Entomology found they freeze to death if you keep the temperature low enough for a few days.

Researchers suggest homeowners put bed bug infested items in a plastic bag inside a freezer for two to four days.
