Health Alert: In vitro fertilization and vitamin levels

(CBS)- Women trying to get pregnant through in vitro fertilization may want to check their vitamin D levels. A new study finds women with vitamin D deficiencies are about half as likely to conceive, while women with adequate levels of the vitamin are more likely to get pregnant. Researchers say vitamin D supplements are a simple way to increase levels.

(CBS)- Scientists are getting positive results from a newly developed Chikungunya vaccine. The National Institutes of Health says early clinical trials are showing the vaccine produces antibodies that successfully fight the virus. Chikungunya is spread by mosquitoes. Symptoms include joint pain with headache and fever.

(CBS)- A little added fat can be good for premature babies. That's according to a study published in the Journal of Pediatrics. Researchers found giving added human milk fat to premature infants improves their growth. Adequate development in early stages can lead to better long term health
