Health Alert: Wash vegetables thoroughly before eating

(CBS) - Eat your vegetables but make sure they're clean first. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found leafy green are the leading source of food poisoning. Doctors say that these foods are still safe to eat but be sure to wash them first or cook them thoroughly.

 


(CBS) - Pregnant women who experience severe morning sickness in their second trimester may suffer placental complications later in the pregnancy. Swedish researchers looked at women who were hospitalized for morning sickness. Those in their second trimester were at greater risk for conditions like pre term preclampsia, placental abruption and babies that are small for their age.

 


(CBS) - Most patients who underwent a tummy tuck managed to keep the weight off a year later. A study published in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery found the results were especially true for patients who were either obese or overweight prior to the procedure. Doctors credit increased satiety or feeling full after eating for the long term weight loss.
