Angelina County reports 2nd case of Zika virus

ANGELINA COUNTY - Angelina County has reported a second case of Zika virus. There are also confirmed cases in Upshur, Gregg and Rusk County.
 
There are now 237 reported cases of Zika in Texas, and five of those are in the East Texas area.

People who are infected with Zika may have little or no symptoms, the most common being:

  • Fever
  • Rash
  • Joint Pain
  • Conjunctivis (red eyes)
  • Muscle Pain
  • Headace

Symptoms can be mild, and can last for several days.

If you live in an area with Zika, or if you or your sexual partner travel to an area with Zika, follow the steps below to protect your pregnancy.
