TYLER - A Smith County man who allegedly ran over a 25-year-old woman as she stood on a median on Loop 323 on Dec. 3 was indicted Jan. 21 on charges of intoxicated man-slaughter with a vehicle in the 114th Smith County District Court of Judge Christi Kennedy.

Tyler police said Gerald Lane Bourque, 45, failed to stop and render aid after he struck Victoria Alison Miles with his Chevy pickup as she stood in the middle of the road in the 1700 block of South-Southwest Loop 323.

"Investigators were told that Miles was walking back to work at the Valero gas station from the Regions Bank where she had withdrawn money," Tyler Police Public Infor-mation Officer Don Martin said. He said Ms. Miles was standing on the media waiting for traffic to clear when a blue 2007 Chevy Silverado traveling southbound drove up onto the median striking a street sign and then hitting her.

Officers arrested Bourque on Troup highway later on Dec. 3 after they determined he was under the influence of alcohol.
