HOWARD COUNTY (CNN/KYTX) - An 18-wheeler accident on Interstate 20 in Howard County left behind a big mess.
The accident happened Tuesday night near mile marker 170, near FM 2599. DPS Troopers say an 18-wheeler going westbound on I-20 in Howard County lost control and took out a barrier. The truck driver tried to correct the truck but fishtailed off the road and took out the barrier.
The barrier shook the pillars that supported the bridge and the bridged collapsed onto the highway in the westbound lanes. Another 18 wheeler then ran into the bridge once it was on the highway. Neither driver had any injuries.
DPS Troopers are urging drivers to exit on Highway 176 in Big Spring and reconnect to highway 137 near Stanton.
The westbound lanes will be closed all day on Wednesday and on Thursday as well.
