Jacksonville ISD board members unanimously approved calling a bond election last night. It would create a brand new Westside Elementary campus on land previously owned by lon Morris College and the building of a new band hall at Nichols Intermediate. "At the time Nichols was built band was running 80 to 90 students today we're running about 150 6th graders in our band program" The bond package is 22.78 million dollars. If it passes, the tax rate for homeowners in Jacksonville will jump 8.5 percent.
