Jacksonville schools dedicated to community members

JACKSONVILLE (KYTX) - Two brand new Jacksonville schools dedicated Sunday.

In two ceremonies, one at Joe Wright Elementary and the other at East Side, the cafeteria, gym and library were named after those who have made an impact on students.

"We worked really hard to find people that would be examples to children. They could walk past these plaques that talk about who these people are for 25 years. Be inspired to follow in their footsteps and know that you can be anything," says Kathleen Stanfill, a Jacksonville Education Foundation board member.

The Joe Wright library was dedicated to Holley Decker.

The cafeteria was dedicated to Joyce and Wilson Folden.

The Gymnasium was dedicated to Tracey Wallace.

The East Side cafeteria was dedicated to Fletcher Wilson.

The gym was dedicated to Mary Agnes Lane.

The library was dedicated to Dr. Cordell Adams.
