Johnny Basketball? Harlem Globetrotters draft Johnny Manziel -- It's always good to have a fallback plan. So if this NFL thing doesn't work out for Johnny Manziel, the Browns' 22nd overall pick in last month's draft, there's always basketball. Specifically, the Harlem Globetrotters, who selected Manziel in their eighth annual player draft Tuesday.

Okay, so a one-team draft is probably better described as a publicity stunt, but either way, Manziel joins a "draft class" that includes six other players: U.S. soccer standout Landon Donovan, 2014 College Slam Dunk Championship Marcus Lewis of Eastern Kentucky University, NAIA dunk contest winner Tyler Inman of Southwestern Christian University, New Mexico State University shot blocker Sim Bhullar and Andrew Wiggins' two older brothers.

"We like to think outside the box with our draft, so we look at all different kinds of athletes that could have the qualities of a Harlem Globetrotter," Sweet Lou Dunbar, the Globetrotters' director of player personnel, said according to the team's website. "There are a lot of outstanding dunkers on this list, the Wiggins brothers come from a great bloodline, Sim Bhullar is a mountain of a man that can put the ball in the hole … and certainly keep others from doing so, we know Landon Donovan can handle a ball, and we also know that Johnny Manziel is a fantastic athlete that knows how to be entertaining. ‘Johnny Basketball' has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?"

Any questions about Manziel's hops were answered back in March when he posted this video of himself throwing down on a eight-foot goal.
