The Kilgore Bulldogs are on a roll, a perfect 5-0 so far. They're ripping and running "The District of Doom" causing their own terror on their opponents. They'll try to defend that record Friday at home against Gladewater, a team that has yet to win in the district.
Kilgore has had two weeks to prepare for the game after an open week. Head coach Mike Wood and his players say there's one reason for their success this season, the glue that keeps the team together -the offensive and defensive lines.
In the 8th week of the JUCO season, the Kilgore College Rangers have suffered just one loss this season. After a 3-6 record in 2011, it seems as if head coach J.J. Eckert has turned the program around in 2012 but in reality, last year's team was 22 points away from being 7-2. Many of last year's players are still on the team and use last season's results as a teaching tool but there's still one thing they're working on - a consistent run game.
