Kilgore PD arrests 15 people for DWI during "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign

KILGORE (KYTX) -- Kilgore Police department participated in the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" Labor Day Campaign.

During the campaign that ran from August 16 through September 2, fifteen people were arrested for DWI. Five of the fifteen people were repeat offenders.

No alcohol related crashes occurred.

Officers executed three of three search warrants due to refusals to provide a specimen of breath or blood.

For three of those arrested, who provided a breath specimen, it was shown their alcohol level was twice the legal limit of .08. One arrestee was over three times the legal limit.

The Kilgore Police Department maintains zero tolerance for drunk driving year round. Drunk driving is not a choice it's a crime. Kilgore Police warns drivers that if you drive drunk in Kilgore you will be caught, arrested and placed in jail.
