Kilgore police arrest two men for vehicle burglary near high school

KILGORE/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - Two men were arrested for vehicle burglary Thursday near Kilgore High School.

According to police, officers responded to a back parking area near the school on a report that two "suspicious persons dressed in black" were at the location. Officer Josh Sims arrived on the scene and saw the men drop a box of suspected stolen items and run away from the scene.

The dropped items were later found to have been stolen from a vehicle parked in the area. A Kilgore police K-9 unit tracked the suspects to a nearby home, officers said.

Police arrested 23-year-old Jeffery Ragan Jr., and 18-year-old Jeremy Robinson, both of Kilgore, on evading arrest and marijuana possession charges. Police say burglary charges are pending.
