Kilgore police arrest two men on drug, forgery, abuse charges

KILGORE/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - On Wednesday, Kilgore police Officer Josh Sims and Sgt. Terry Linder conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle due to a traffic offense.

During the stop, police located 2.5 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale and numerous small plastic baggies. Police also discovered a forged check, stolen checkbook, stolen debit card and stolen jewelry.

The two occupants of the vehicle were both arrested. The first occupant, identified as Bobby Lee Hampton, 38 years of age of Hallsville, Texas, was charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Credit Card Abuse, Theft, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Fail to Identity and Stealing/Receiving Stolen Checks.

The second was Dale Schelling (pictured), 26 years of age of Longview, Texas was charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Forgery, Credit Card Abuse and Stealing/Receiving Stolen Checks.

Both were booked into the Kilgore City Jail. A photo of Hampton has not been released.
