KILGORE (KYTX) - On Friday, Dec. 7, Kilgore Police officers were notified of the location of Mikeal Reeves, 22, of Tyler who was wanted out of Wood County due to a felony Injury to a Child arrest warrant. Reeves was reportedly working at a new school construction site located at Baughman Road and U.S. Highway 259 South, Kilgore.
Kilgore Officers traveled to the construction site and observed Mikeal Reeves working on a rooftop. He was order to come down, but quickly ducked out of sight and was seen running from the location and into an adjacent neighborhood. Reeves was pursued by police though out the neighborhood. He traveled through several yards, a creek bed and a culvert.
Reeves then forcibly entered a residence in the 2300 block of Redbud Street though the front door and assaulted a house keeper. He stole the house keeper's cell telephone. Police located Reeves in a back bedroom of the residence and after a brief struggle Reeves was taken into custody by Kilgore Police Officer Joseph Harrison and Detective Sergeant David Falco.
Mikeal Reeves was transported and booked into the Kilgore Municipal. Reeves was charged with Felony Burglary of Habitation with a bond of $250,000, Evading Arrest, Misdemeanor, with a bond of $20,000 and Wood County Warrant for Felony Injury to a Child with a bond of $50,000.
