KMHT: Former Harrison Co. deputy jailed for attacking estranged wife with vehicle

MARSHALL (KYTX) - Former Harrison County Sheriff's Deputy Matthew Ryan Hasler, 32, was arrested for deadly conduct and assault family violence on Wednesday, according to court documents obtained by Marshall radio station KMHT from Harrison County authorities.

According to KMHT, "A second warrant filled out by Detective Duncan alleges Hasler admitted to ramming his vehicle head on into his estranged wife's vehicle on Tuesday, while she was operating the vehicle."

Hasler was questioned - but never arrested - in the Dec. 15th shooting of a Marshall man outside a downtown bar.

According to KMHT, "The investigation into the shooting is being handled primarily by the Texas Rangers and Special Investigators of the Harrison County District Attorney's Office. District Attorney Coke Solomon has recused himself from the case."
