According to a Facebook post by the Greater Longview Soccer Association Monday Sept. 12, a child was bitten by a water moccasin snake while playing in the creek area at Lear Soccer Complex.

The City of Longview Park are now searching for more snakes and the G.L.S.A asked area parents to restrict children from playing in creeks and wooded areas.

“Please join us with your thoughts and prayers for this injured child and family,” the post reads.
