(KYTX) - An army of Letourneau Yellow Jackets buzzed through service projects across Longview today.
More than 400 first-year students from Letourneau University hit the streets, pulling up old boards, painting, weed-eating, anything area churches and community agencies needed done.
The university says students perform the tasks to bless their community.
"It makes me feel very humble because I know I've been in this church while being served, and it just allows us to model Christ-like behavior and show our freshmen what we're really about, and show the community as well."
Students also served throughout the morning at churches, schools and local missions.
