Liberty City homicide victim identified

Gregg County Sheriff's Department:

UPDATE: GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - On Monday, June 24th at about 1:50 a.m., Deputies responded to 642 McQueen Road for an aggravated assault. Upon arrival, 27-year-old year old Jeremy Dewayne Miller was located in the residence with a serious injury to his abdomen. The nature of the wound is not being released at this time.

EMS transported Miller to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview where he died at about 2:50 a.m. Justice of the Peace Arthur Fort responded and ordered an autopsy at the Forensic Medical Center in Tyler.

Gregg County Investigators, Kilgore Police Detectives and the Texas Ranger assigned to Gregg County are currently working on the case.

Persons of interest have been identified but no arrests have been made at this time. Additional information may be available upon completion of the autopsy.

Investigation continues.


GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - Gregg County Sheriff's Department is investigating a homicide in Liberty City.


Gregg County Sheriff's Department Public Information Officer Kirk Haddix tells KYTX CBS 19 that the homicide of a white man happened in the 600 block of McQueen Road off of Farm Market Road 1252 between Highway 42 and Highway 135.

The name and how the victim died is not being released.

The body was sent to the Southeast Texas Forensic Center in Tyler.

No arrest has been made. The case is still under investigation.
