Lindale records second auto-pedestrian fatal in less than a week

LINDALE  (KYTX) - The City of Lindale will soon be meeting with TxDot officials following two fatal auto-pedestrian accidents on Hwy 69, just north of I-20 that occurred in less than a week.

On Saturday November 16, 2013, 61-year-old Karen Hand of Lindale was struck and killed by an SUV as she attempted to cross the highway after leaving a Burger King restaurant.

On November 7, 2013, Lindale police responded to an auto-pedestrian accident in the same location.

A man was also struck and killed as he was crossing the highway. Both accidents occurred at night.

The nearest crosswalk is at Main St. (Hwy 69) at Centennial Drive.
