A Lufkin Police Department said that Kindle was visiting the Dollar General to buy cigarettes after getting off work at Georgia Pacific.

Kindle was in the middle of his purchase at the check out area when the suspect entered the store in a mask at 9:48 p.m. Friday evening, waving a handgun and demanding money.

Police will not release the surveillance video due to its graphic content, but it shows that the suspect rushed into the store.

After the suspect entered the store, he walked behind Kindle, who did a double take over his shoulder and was shot by the suspect at a close range.

According to police, the suspect looked like he was having trouble with his weapon while pointing it at the store clerk before jumping onto the counter.

After jumping off of the counter, the suspect searched Kindle's pockets before running from the store into a wooded area toward Loop 287.

Police do not know if the suspect took anything from Kindle and he did not take any money from the store.

The suspect is described as a young, slender, light-complected black man, wearing a dark hoodie, light basketball shorts, red shoes and a neon green Halloween mask.
