1 suffers life-threatening injuries in Longview shooting

LONGVIEW - Longview police have arrested two men in connection with a shooting that left one person injured early Sunday morning.

Just after 3 a.m., officers were called to the 1700 block of Alpine Road -- near its intersection with Valley Drive.

When police arrived, they learned one person had been shot.

The victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital, according to police.

Detectives believe the shooting stemmed from an argument between several people.

Police later arrested 23 year-old Thadman Lewis, Jr. and 18 year-old Kelan Blanton, both of Longview, who fired multiple rounds into an apartment.

Both men have been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (F2). Lewis was also booked in on an unrelated Bond Forfeiture warrant for Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon.

Both men were transported to the Gregg County Jail without incident.

Longview police continue to investigate this shooting.
