2 Tyler men heading to prison, drug trafficking violations

TYLER - Tyler natives, Hubert Wright, 60, and Kevin Williams, 38, will serve prison sentences after pleading guilty for drug trafficking violation. 

Wright was charged for possession with the intent to distribute about 500 grams of cocaine and the possession of firearms to further the drug trafficking he was involved in. 

Williams was charged for possession with the intention of distributing crack and powder cocaine.

The information given in court in May of last year indicated that Williams had driven Nyrearae Lewis to Wright's residence to Wright's residence to sell drugs to him.

When Lewis got into Williams' vehicle, he was in possession of about 130 grams of powder cocaine.

After Williams stopped at Wright's house and converted over 40 grams of cocaine into crack cocaine, Wright decided to decline purchasing any of the drugs from Lewis.

Lewis then left the residence with the drugs and soon after, was pulled over by police and his drugs were seized. 

Later in May 2016, federal agents obtained a search warrent for Wright's residence, found and seized multiple firearms and rounds of ammunition.

During the search, agents also discovered over $330,000, electronics and 2.5 miligrams of cocaine.

Wright will serve 120 months and Williams will serve to 30 months, both in federal prison.
