33rd Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive in Longview

1,400 families will receive Thanksgiving groceries this year!

LONGVIEW - More than 200 volunteers are working to help families in need have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Volunteers began packing boxes full of canned goods, bread and other foods for tomorrow’s distribution day.

This year, 1,400 families will receive food for Thanksgiving. Groups from across East Texas donated food for the event.

Many of the volunteers say helping others is the reason for the holiday.

“This is the reason for the holiday,”Raygan Barnhill says. “I love giving back to those in need.”

Organizers tell us in the 33 years of having the event, this is the biggest food drive to date.

Tomorrow they will begin giving out food at Noon.

If you would like to donate food or make a monetary donation, you can stop by Maude Cobb Convention Center in Longview.
