2 wounded after shooting near Kilgore College

KILGORE - UPDATE: According to the Kilgore Police Department, two people are in the hospital after the shooting occurred just before 3 p.m. Wednesday on the 900 block of South Street in Kilgore.

Officers responded to the scene after reports of a disturbance and multiple gunshots. 

When police arrived, they found a group of roughly 10 to 12 people and two people who were shot. Witnesses told police that the shooter fled the scene in a white and brown Ford truck.

Numerous shell casings were recovered by police on the scene. The two victims were taken to a Longview hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The victims' names will not be released at this time.

Gunfire has been reported near Kilgore College on Houston Street west of Broadway after an argument reportedly escalated into a shooting. At least one person has been wounded, according to developing reports.


URGENT: Avoid the area as the shooter(s) may still be on scene, described as a black male with dreadlocks.

Kilgore Police Officers are on the scene and securing the area with barricades, blocking off the intersection of Main and Broadway and surrounding streets.
