TEXARKANA - Bobby Wayne Lance, 50, will serve over 87 years in prison after being sentenced for various crimes he committed in East Texas.
According to court proceedings, Lance robbed a convenience store in Bowie County, a movie theater in Lamar County, and a Franklin County bank in a spree that happened over a period of several days in November 2015.
After being identified as a suspect by law enforcement, deputies from various jurisdictions, along with the FBI, went to search Lance's residence.
During their search, Law enforcement uncovered two bags of cash that contained "bait bills" that were photocopies the bank had made to be used in the event of a robbery.
The search also led to the discovery of a loaded revolver and receipts for over $73,000 for various bills that were paid in the days in between the thefts.
Lance was convicted of violating the Hobbs Act for the robberies in Paris and in Delkalb, holding up First National Bank in Mount Vernon, Texas, and of four counts of use or carrying a firearm to commit a crime of violence related to the robberies.
