BOIL WATER NOTICE LIFTED: Pritchett Water Supply customers in Sasafras area

GILMER - UPDATE: The notice has been rescinded.

Pritchett Water Supply has issued a boil water notice for its customers in Sasafras on FM 1795 and FM 1002 due to a line break and reduced pressure in the area.

To make sure all harmful bacteria and other microbes are destroyed, water used for drinking, cooking and making ice should be boiled before it is consumed.

The water should be brought to a vigorous boil and then kept that way for two minutes.

Instead of boiling water, you can also buy water bottles or get water from another suitable source.

Another notice will be released when it is no longer necessary to boil your water.

Any questions regarding the notice can be directed to the Manager, Robbie Arrington of Pritchett Water Supply Corporation at 903-734-5438 or 903-720-4638, or Rex Sweat at 903-720-2873.

If a customer would like to contact the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, they can do so at 903-239-4691.
