Brook Hill Lower School students learn how to vote with mock election

Student tabulators worked throughout the day Tuesday counting votes for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton casted by their classmates at The Brook Hill Lower School.
Students from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade learned about elections and the voting process through a mock vote for United States president in the library.

"We are helping them understand the importance of voting and elections. It's a right and a responsibility," librarian Ila England said.
Each student brought a handmade voter registration card, had it checked, received their ballot with instructions, visited a voting booth, then placed their ballots in a voting box.

By the end of the school day students will know the results of the mock election.
