UPDATE: Trinity Industries releases statement on fire at Longview location

LONGVIEW - UPDATE: Trinity Industries released a statement in regard to the fire that started Wednesday evening at their Longview location.

The company said, in part:

"It occurred in the part of the facility where tanks for tank cars are primed prior to further assembly. This was a fabrication center and no hazardous product was contained in the tank car assemblies.

Trinity immediately implemented standard safety procedures. The facility was evacuated and there were no injuries. All employees on duty at the time are safe and accounted for."

The fire was extinguished later in the evening and it is currently under investigation.

Multiple agencies responded to a fire at a business near Longview on Wednesday evening.

According to the Hallsville Fire Department and Harrison County Sheriff's Office, crews responded to the fire at Trinity Industries located on Hwy 80 around 5:45 p.m.

There are no reports of injuries at this time.
