Early Childhood Intervention to resume under new contract

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) secured a new contract for Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) services in East Texas.

The Andrews Center will no longer provide ECI services.

HHSC secured a contract with Community Healthcore, and will begin ECI services in the following counties: Anderson, Cherokee, Henderson, Rains, Smith, Van Zandt, and Wood county.

Community Healthcore will contact families who had been receiving ECI services and facilitate the change in ECI providers.

Director of Early Childhood Intervention, Dana McGrath stated "As you know, our Family Liaison has been handling referrals for these counties while HHSC worked to secure the new contractor. These referrals will be passed on to Community Healthcore so that they may connect with the families to determine eligibility and begin ECI services, if appropriate."
