SMITH COUNTY - Lance Cody Scott, 21, turned himself in to the Smith County Jail on Wednesday after allegedly conducting two aggravated robberies on Dec. 1 and Dec. 3, 2017.

According to Sergeant Darell Coslin, law enforcement officials were dispatched to AZ Food Mart on the 11300 block of Highway 69 North just before 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 1, in reference to an aggravated robbery.

Authorities say Scott allegedly entered the business armed with a handgun, demanded money and was able to get away from the scene before deputies arrived.

Two days later at 6:16 p.m., deputies were dispatched to AB Country Store on the 18500 block of Farm to Market Road 14 for an aggravated robbery.

After the robberies, detectives with the Smith County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division began their investigation.

A photo from the surveillance video was released the public, asking for help identifying the suspect.

Deputies and patrol detectives were later able to identify the suspect as Scott. Detectives also obtained evidence linking Scott to both robberies.
