East Texas city mourns student's death

Naples residents are still in shock after shooting tragedy.

A East Texas city is trying to cope with the sudden loss and shooting of a high school student.  The victim was fifteen-year-old Deadrian Webster. A talented junior varsity football player at Paul H. Pewitt High School in Naples.

Naples Police say they responded to a call of a shooting Saturday night. When they arrived, they found Webster dead and a female victim with a gunshot wound.  A family friend says the female victim was his mother and that she is good condition at the local hospital.

"God is in control, and we are here for you as a unit,we love you and we are going to continue praying for you," family friend Tomeka Turner said.

Sunday night a vigil was held at his high school. "He was 6'3", 260 pounds, and the kindest soul you will ever meet,"  Pewitt Consolidated Independent School Superintendent Dr. Andy Roddock said.

Turner has known Webster since he was born and says his death brought her to her knees. To show support she has created a GoFundMe page to help support Webster's family. "To help them with medical and funeral expenses, I created the account," Turner said. "I also will be creating other ways to donate."
