East Texas Medical Center partners with the East Texas Food Bank for a canned food drive

The East Texas Medical Center Olympic Center is partnering with the East Texas Food Bank for a canned food drive Nov. 1 through 30 to help fight hunger this holiday season.

“Roughly 473,000 adults, children and seniors are at risk for hunger in East Texas,” said Jeramie Hinojosa, director of the ETMC Olympic Center. “Keeping East Texans healthy and fit is part of our mission, so we are excited to partner with the food bank for this important drive.”

There will be donation barrels located at most ETMC Olympic Centers throughout East Texas during November. The canned goods can be dropped off at ETMC Olympic Centers in Tyler, Cedar Creek Lake, Chandler, Hideaway Lake, Jacksonville, Lake Palestine, Mineola, Pittsburg or Rusk.

Each new member who joins ETMC in November and donates more than 15 or more canned food items will receive their first full month of membership free.
