East Texas woman charged with animal cruelty

Dog hot car arrest

MARSHALL - An East Texas woman is being charged with animal cruelty. Marshall Police tell us they found her dog in an abandoned car.

On June 23, police arrested Namalia Pearl Thurwacher, 43, of Haltom City, TX. They were called to her house because of her dog being in the hot car.

"A judge will decide whether or not to release the dog back to Thurwacher." Marshall Police PIO Kelly Colvin said.

Thurwacher is being held on $2,500 bond at the Harrison County Jail.
